Meet the Team


  • Brigid Breetz 
    Classroom Assistant: Kegan Flum

    Mrs. Breetz began her teaching career in 1992 and joined the Anchorage School team in 2010. Brigid has taught all grades K-4, but her favorite grade is kindergarten. She loves seeing the excitement when a little person grasps a new concept. Brigid is married to Chris, an engineer. They have 4 adult children. Aden, Austen, Tristan, and Emma, and a 2-year-old grandson, Lucas, who has the whole family wrapped around his finger. Their Yorkie, Coco, is a sweet bundle of energy. Austen and his wife Natalie live in Oahu and Emma is moving to Spain in September to take a job with the Spanish government.

    I began teaching in 2016 and joined the Anchorage School team in 2017. I graduated from Centre College with a degree in Psychology and then received a Master's in Teaching from Bellarmine University. I am married to my college sweetheart, Ben Van Nevel, and we share two precious daughters, Avery and Olivia. I grew up in Louisville and have family who lives in Anchorage. I enjoy seeing the students and their families at neighborhood events throughout the year, the pool, and the Anchorage trail. I love teaching in Anchorage and enjoy being part of such a wonderful community!
