Sharla Six, Interim SuperintendentMs. Sharla Six is honored to join the Anchorage Public School District as interim superintendent for the 2024-25 school year. Whether working as a teacher or administrator, she has dedicated her 35-year career to improving Kentucky’s public schools. A listing of her roles and experience may be accessed via this link.
Loving, leading, and serving have become the actions she relies upon when solving problems or celebrating wins! She has acknowledged there is so much to celebrate in this beautiful community and recognizes the school as its heart. In addition to leading with authenticity, her goals for the academic year include increasing communication, defining systems for maximum efficiency, and building capacity in others, including the phenomenal students enrolled in Anchorage Public School!
Sharla is married, has two grown daughters, and six grandchildren. She loves to read, travel, and enjoys a restful beach vacation with extended family each year. Her creative outlet is paper crafting and believes the mathematical practices used in these efforts keep her mind sharp. Sharla loves a good game of kickball, dodgeball, or pickleball even though she is known to break a few of her own bones in the process. Her competitive spirit is alive and well!
With a spirit of gratitude, she hopes to become a valued member of the Anchor family and model the “Big 3” on a daily basis. Please don’t hesitate to contact her if you have any questions, concerns or “good vibes” you’d like her to pass along to others!
Her email address is: sharla.six@anchorage.kyschools.us and she looks forward to hearing from APS families!

Mr. Roettger loves helping students find their niche within the school community. When he is not supporting his students as they excel in their extracurricular activities, he can be found rooting on or coaching his own two sons in their various endeavors. Many of which include fellow Anchors!
Mr. Roettger is married and has two sons. They are also the proud owners of a fun fluffy dog named Louie. When he is not spending time with his family, Mr. Roettger can be found working in his yard, going to sporting events, and trying to make it to the lake with whatever free time he has left!
